Sigmund Lee, CPA, FCA (Ireland)
Candidate for Richmond Hill Council, Ward 2
Experienced Financial Oversight. Practical Community Leadership.
Whether it is traffic on Major Mackenzie Drive or development pressures near Yonge Street, Ward 2 needs a voice who knows the neighbourhood.
Residents are being asked to pay more, and they deserve better value, stronger oversight, and clearer accountability from City Hall. Families, seniors, and homeowners need leadership focused on controlling costs and protecting services.
A Personal Note from Sigmund Lee
Every page on this website has been written and designed by me — not by consultants or ghostwriters. I believe residents deserve to hear directly from the person asking for their vote.
A consultant report commissioned by the City warned that Richmond Hill may face property tax increases of 6 to 7 percent annually.
Who is watching costs at City Hall?
At a time when residents are being asked to pay more, Council needs stronger financial oversight and a clearer focus on taxpayer value.
As a CPA and FCA (Ireland) with more than 30 years of experience in finance, oversight, and accountability, I am running to bring practical leadership and disciplined decision-making to Ward 2.

Focused on Results
These experiences shaped my commitment to careful decision-making, strong oversight, disciplined spending, and accountability for results.
I am running for Council because residents deserve practical leadership, stronger oversight, and better value for every tax dollar.
Why I’m Running
Like many residents, I have seen how decisions at City Hall affect everyday life, and why getting those decisions right matters.
Costs continue to rise, and residents deserve clearer value for what they pay.
Too many decisions are made without enough oversight, accountability, or long-term planning.
I am not approaching this as a career politician. I believe local government should be grounded in common sense, responsibility, and respect for taxpayers.
I am running in Ward 2 because our community deserves stronger representation and more practical, disciplined leadership at City Hall.

“I’ve never believed leadership begins during an election.
It begins years before anyone asks for your vote.”
Community Involvement
Serving the community has been a lifelong commitment, not something that began with this campaign.
I joined Skills for Change in 1987 when it operated from just two rooms. Six years later, I was elected Chair of the Board. During my time as Chair, the organization experienced significant growth, including its move into a permanent home at 791 St. Clair Avenue West. Today, Skills for Change serves more than 20,000 people annually. That experience taught me the importance of responsible leadership, long-term planning, and building organizations that stand the test of time.
I didn’t wait for an election to serve my community. I’ve been helping build stronger communities for decades.

For me, public service begins with personal responsibility, accountability, and a commitment to helping others.
These experiences have shaped my approach to leadership: thoughtful decision-making, accountability, and responsible stewardship. They are the values I will bring to Richmond Hill Council from day one.
My Commitment to Residents
- Responsible spending and stronger oversight
- Asking the right questions
- Prioritizing essential services
- Building a more vibrant and livable community
I will treat this role as a full-time responsibility and give it the attention it deserves.
Looking Forward
