Why Sigmund Lee
Residents deserve someone willing to listen carefully, ask difficult questions, and follow through.
Too often, people feel left out of decisions that affect their daily lives – from development and traffic to safety, services, taxes, and neighbourhood concerns.
Richmond Hill is my home, and I care deeply about the future of this community.
I am running to bring practical leadership, stronger accountability, and disciplined decision-making to Ward 2.
I am not approaching this as a career politician.
I believe local government should be grounded in common sense, responsibility, respect for taxpayers, and real service to residents.
Why I’m Running
This is not about politics. It is about people.
Across Richmond Hill, I have heard the same concern: issues are raised, but they are not always addressed clearly or in a timely way.
I have attended community meetings, spoken directly with residents, and listened to concerns about development, traffic, neighbourhood safety, and local services.
These conversations have made one thing clear: residents want representation that reflects what they are actually experiencing.
That is why I am running.
I will bring a consistent, accountable, and practical approach focused on real issues, real follow-through, and real outcomes.
A Focus on Accountability and Cost Control
Listening matters, but it must lead to action.
A consultant report commissioned by the City warned that Richmond Hill may face property tax increases of 6 to 7 percent annually.
At the same time, York Region has reported nearly $5 billion in financial pressures over the next decade, creating additional challenges for taxpayers across the Region, including Richmond Hill.
That means families, seniors, and homeowners could face increasing financial pressure unless governments apply stronger oversight, spending discipline, and clear priorities.
Residents deserve better value for every tax dollar.
Leadership means asking difficult questions, reviewing spending carefully, protecting essential services, and making decisions that deliver real results.
Who is watching costs at City Hall and at York Region?
That question matters, and it is one of the reasons I am running.

Leadership Requires Transparency
Residents deserve clear, accurate, and transparent representation from everyone serving public office.
I believe trust is earned through honesty, accountability, and measurable results – not vague political messaging.
As a CPA, I believe details matter, especially when residents are being asked to trust leadership decisions that affect taxes, growth, services, and city priorities.
