How to Vote in Richmond Hill’s 2026 Municipal Election

Richmond Hill voters can vote online or in person by paper ballot.

Voters will elect a Mayor, up to two Regional Councillors, a local Councillor and School Board Trustees.

Who Can Vote

You can vote in Richmond Hill’s municipal election if you meet all of the following requirements:

• You are a Canadian citizen.
• You are at least 18 years old on or before October 26, 2026.
• You are a Richmond Hill resident, an owner or tenant of land in Richmond Hill, or the spouse of an owner or tenant of land in Richmond Hill.
• You are not prohibited from voting under the Municipal Elections Act or any other law.

School Board Trustee eligibility and the trustee listed on your ballot depend on your school-support designation. Please review the City’s official voter information if you have questions.
